The Importance of Self Care

Hello Loves!

So! I was sitting down last night, watching YouTube videos and I had an epiphany  that 2017 will be the year of self-care. I’m not talking about fitness, well not completely but I really want to focus on taking better care of myself this year and I want to encourage everyone else to do so as well. I’m not a selfless person but I, like many other people have the tendency to put taking care of myself on the back burner. Something always comes up and I end up being the last thing I’m concerned with, for me, it’s usually school. Now I’m not saying that you should take the money you have saved away for textbooks or rent or your phone bill and go on a Sephora haul. I’m just saying take a little bit of time during the week, probably on a weekend because we often have more free time then, and take care of yourself.

I normally take my self-care day on Sunday. Which I think a lot of people use because it’s often trending on twitter, to regroup myself by myself. Self Care is something that I do alone. I’ve noticed that a lot of my friends have issues when it comes to being by themselves. They’re not very comfortable when they’re by themselves and I don’t believe that’s a healthy habit to get into. I was the same way until I started doing this. We should all be comfortable being alone and this is a good way to get into the habit. A time to learn and fall in love with yourself.

For me, self-care is all about my bathroom. I still live at home because college is expensive and I don’t really get much time to myself because my sisters love to talk. The bathroom is the one place I can go where no one will talk to me, which may sound horrible but silence is golden and important for my self-care. Self Care for me, is taking a nice bath with a bath bomb because Lush exist and I’m addicted to it. I read a book and just take time to relax. I do a facial, Lush also as amazing facials, but you can also get a sheet mask from Sephora or even make your own which I’ve done from time to time. Then I end my night, usually watching YouTube videos or whatever show I’ve been wanting to watch on Netflix with a cup of tea.

Though I highly recommend my weekly self-care routine,I also encourage you to make your own! For you, self-care might be going to a yoga class, bing watching your favorite Netflix shows with a giant pizza or maybe it’s brunch with friends! Find something that you can put into your weekly routine that allows you to relax and recharge so you’re better prepared for whatever the week may throw your way.

Favorite Lush Holiday Products!

I adore Lush! It’s one of my favorite stores to shop in because I have very sensitive skin. I can’t use a lot of the smell good products that they sell in lots of other stores because the chemicals either give me a rash or make my skin feel as if it’s on fire.Thats why when I first went to Lush, I went crazy. Its one of the few stores where I can use nearly everything in the store.  Lush does amazing things for the Holiday and I wanted to share some of my favorite Lush products with you!

Lush-Wintercollectie-Rose-Jam-Snow-Fairy-Shower-GelI’m going to start with shower products. Every year I buy the Rose Jam and the Snow Fairy shower gels. Rose jam is my absolute favorite scent at lush. I love it because it smells like flowers but it also has a bit of a sweetness to it that I love. The Snow Fairy shower gel smells like candy heaven. It smells like cotton candy taste and it has glitter in it! Which depending on how you feel about glitter is a positive or negative thing.

Santa'sBelly-100g-SideThe next products are shower jelly’s. They feel jell-o and sometimes I find myself playing with them more often then using them. The two Christmas shower jelly’s are called Snowman and Santa’s Belly. I didn’t buy snowman but it smells amazing. I did buy the Santa’s Belly jelly because it smells like so white which is one of my favorite winter bath bombs. It smells like apples. Which leads me to my last and favorite things at Lush, BATH BOMBS!

Bath bombs are the best things ever.If I could, I would have a basket full of bath bombs at all times. So White, ButterBear, Luxury lush pud and shoot for the stars are my favorite. So white smells like apple cider. Butterbear smells like cocoa butter because it has picks and pieces of cocoa butter in it, which is amazing, especially during the winter. My skin tends to be a bit dry and this adds moisturizer. Luxury lush pud smells like lavender, another one of my favorite scent and Shoot for the Stars smells like honey.

Those are most of my favorite lush products for the Christmas/Winter season! Share some of your favorite Lush products below and recommend any you think I might like or should try!
